The official gaming benchmark results for AMD’s upcoming 8-core Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor, set to launch in April, have been released. According to the benchmark, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D outperforms Intel’s Core i9-13900K by up to 24%.
Last month AMD announced its Ryzen 7000X3D series processors, including its prices and launch date. Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D were released on 28 February for $699 and $599 respectively. Meanwhile, Ryzen 7 7800X3D will be released on 6 April for $499. It’s interesting because, previously, AMD only had one product for the X3D variant, Ryzen 7 5800X3D.
Despite being positioned by AMD as a competitor to Intel’s Core i7-13700K, benchmark results reveal that the Ryzen 7 has the ability to outperform higher-end Intel processors, such as the Core i9-13900K and the Core i9-13900KS.

In four games, AMD’s benchmark results show the Ryzen 7 7800X3D performing better than the Core i9-13900K, with performance gains ranging from 13% to 24%. Furthermore, the latest generation Ryzen 7 7800X3D outperforms the previous generation Ryzen 5800X3D by 21% to 30% in Rainbow Six Siege, Warhammer: Dawn of War III, CS:GO, and DOTA 2.
It’s not surprising that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will outperform Core i9-13900K in some cases. Its previous iteration, Ryzen 7 5800X3D is also on par if not better than the Core i9 12900K for gaming. It will be more interesting to see how the upcoming processor performs compared to its ‘bigger’ brothers, Ryzen 9 7950X3D and Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Because the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Ryzen 9 7900X3D have two CCDs, with only one CCD featuring 3D Vertical Cache.
