DLC for Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) is coming to Minecraft. The DLC pack will include themed tilesets, locales, enemies, and a ten-hour narrative journey set in the Forgotten Realms. It was revealed during the D&D Direct livestream on Tuesday.
Similar to typical D&D adventures, the Minecraft DLC centered around storytelling will commence with players seated around a table, selecting their character classes and statistics, and then embarking on quests to places such as Candlekeep and Icewind Dale.
In Mojang and Everbloom Games’ interpretation of the Dungeons & Dragons universe, players can assume the roles of a paladin, barbarian, wizard, or rogue, and engage in a custom combat system. As part of the action-RPG version of Minecraft, players can utilize character-specific abilities such as the rogue’s backstab and equip gear that will modify their character’s statistics. The narrative-driven gameplay of the DLC will offer approximately 10 hours of content on the player’s initial playthrough.
